À l'occasion de la Journée nationale « Unis pour l'action », je rends hommage aux jeunes Canadiens qui veulent participer à la construction de leur avenir et qui veulent changer le monde.

Les jeunes d'aujourd'hui sont mieux outillés que quiconque pour apporter des changements sociaux et contribuer à la création d'un monde meilleur où même les idées de quelques individus peuvent améliorer considérablement le sort de nombreuses personnes. En effet, grâce à leur volonté inébranlable et à leur vision optimiste de ce que pourrait être le monde, ils sont particulièrement bien placés pour amener des changements.

Mark et Craig Kielburger, fondateurs d'Enfants Entraide et de l'initiative « Du je au nous », sont des exemples remarquables de ce que les jeunes d'aujourd'hui peuvent accomplir et ils ont su inspirer une nouvelle génération de Canadiens à réaliser leur plein potentiel en tant que citoyens du monde socialement conscientisés.

Alors que nous célébrons la Journée nationale « Unis pour l'action », je remercie Mark et Craig ainsi que tous les autres jeunes Canadiens, de ne pas laisser leur âge les empêcher de faire bouger les choses et de changer le monde.

The UNV Executive Co-ordinator and the Co-chair of the Inter-Agency Network on Youth Development will also be present to speak about some of the initiatives undertaken by the UN to work with and for Youth. In addition, 3 youth leaders will be participating in the discussion!
